Working with rather than against nature is the guiding principle behind organic farming. Organic farmers use biologically-based rather than chemically dependent growing systems to raise crops. Growing cotton without harmful chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides and in a manner that respects people and the planets well being. Methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill and thus is of higher quality.
Natural & Sustainable fibers
Natural Fibers are fibers that are obtained from plants, animal furs, like merino wool and alpaca (with out harming the animal) and other minerals. Others are obtained from the seed fairs, stems and leaves of plants and proteins. Examples are soy and hemp.
Sustainable Fibers are those that are renewable, are lo energy managed and do not need the use of chemicals and pesticides. Recycles materials are also considered sustainable since they are reducing demand for raw materials and reducing landfill waste. Bamboo is one of these materials.
Silk
Silkworm cultivation has brought to us one of the world best feeling fibers. The strongest protein fibber for its weight; silk is stretchy, resilient, breathable and warm.
Recycled H2O bottles and plastics
That’s right, we carry some products made out of recycled water bottles, but you would never be able to tell. They provide a durable fibber and also play a very important part in the reduction of waste by using the PET plastic recycling process. Many of these products have been mixed with wool, hemp and cotton and still feel great.
Bamboo
You really just have to come to Lucid Lifestyle to check it out, our bamboo if perfect to start wearing. Bamboo is great for sports since it has wicking properties and brings the sweat from the body to the surface of the fiber so that it can evaporate. It even has properties of thermal regulation, so that it keeps you cool on those summer days and warm on those winter nights. Just like hemp, bamboo is also UV protective! This is great for cancer patients. Man, can bamboo grow! Sometimes 4 feet per day and reach heights to 100 feet, it matures usually in less than 4 years.
